Gregory H. Skidmore is the President of Belpointe’s Wealth Management Group and Chief Investment Officer for Belpointe Asset Management.
Investment Management Style: Asset Class Beta and University Style.
Personal Investing: Greg uses Asset Class Beta and University Style portfolios to manage his personal money.
Relevant Experience: Greg Skidmore is an expert in applying institutional money management strategies to the portfolios of individual investors. He has completed the SACRS UC Berkeley Haas School of Finance Public Pension Investment Management Program. In addition, he has passed the series 7, 24, 63, 65 securities exams and he has passed the Connecticut life and health insurance exam.
In 2003, Greg joined Advest, formally a subsidiary of AXA Financial, where he spent time in Equity Research and Institutional Sales, working to generate investment ideas for large institutional clients. This included hedge funds, mutual funds and separate account money managers. He then took that experience to Smith Barney where he designed and managed institutional grade portfolios for one of the premier private wealth management teams within Citigroup, the parent company of Smith Barney.
Greg is a contributor to SeekingAlpha.com, a financial website with over 1,000,000 monthly visitors. His articles focus on the latest developments within institutional money management and how they can be applied to benefit individual investors.
As an active member of the local business community he hosted a weekly radio show AM 1490 WGCH called Greenwich Entrepreneurs for five years. Greg was a member of the 2003 US Sailing Team (Greg Skidmore Olympic NY Times, Greg Skidmore Sailing Hartford Courant). He ultimately became the top ranked American in the world in the Finn Class and was an Olympic hopeful. Education: Greg graduated from Connecticut College in 1999 with a BA in Economics and History.
